Election Day

Help! I still can't decide who to vote for! Has anyone truly made up their mind? Do you mind sharing why? Post in the comments if you feel comfortable.

I'm totally obsessing about it and being way too strategic.

You know I'm a flip-flopper but for the past week I've felt pretty confident about Obama. One reason: I read this Thomas Friedman editorial about our country's energy policies. He doesn't really talk about Obama except to commend him for not supporting the gas tax free summer. But I've heard Obama talk about the same ideas, like how we need to think about long-term energy strategies and alternative energy sources. Hillary would probably work towards similar policies but she is supporting lifting the gas tax for the summer.

I also appreciate that Obama opposed the Iraq war whereas Clinton did not. These are only two examples and I'm sure I could find counter-examples if I look hard enough, but I feel like I can trust Obama more to do what is right for the country rather than what is good for him or his campaign.

I'm leaning towards Obama now too, although I was less than wowed at the rally on Monday night. My reason is also his foreign policy. I think he really represents a new direction on that front. I have doubts about his toughness though! I know Hillary will wail on the Republicans, pull out all the dirty tricks this fall. I want someone that committed. Obama? I'm afraid he's too above the fray to play real politics and win the damn general election. Thanks for sharing Allison.

Here is another op-ed by Friedman I could appreciate and agree with. Still leaning Obama.

Yes, that was a great editorial too. I should probably read one of his books.
