Friday Bookish Meme

From BTT . . .

OK this week's seems kind of lame. But whatever:

Quick! It’s an emergency! You just got an urgent call about a family emergency and had to rush to the airport with barely time to grab your wallet and your passport. But now, you’re stuck at the airport with nothing to read. What do you do??

And, no, you did NOT have time to grab your bookbag, or the book next to your bed. You were . . . grocery shopping when you got the call and have nothing with you but your wallet and your passport (which you fortuitously brought with you in case they asked for ID in the ethnic food aisle). This is hypothetical, remember….

Um, I use one of the zillion credit cards in my wallet and buy a book or magazine to read. I would get a Nora Roberts book and/or People magazine to be sure it was something I could escape into while dealing with a family tragedy.

I would buy some gossip magazines in the airport but that's it. I normally can't concentrate enough to read a book on the plane. I'm too busy concentrating all my thoughts on the plane getting us to our destination safely!

I'd go to the bookstore in the airport and look around forever and then I'd a buy some candy instead. I'd be too worked up to actually read.

Did you know that books are only .50 cents at the Goodwill store. This weekend I dropped off 2 bags of old clothes and decided to go in and check it out. After sorting through way too many Grisham and Crichton, I finally found 2 chick-lit books that looked interesting.

RDU has a Borders and a 2nd Chance Book Shop, so no need to panic. I have credit cards and a Borders card! I would buy something trashy to take my mind off the stress, like Janet Evanovitch or something like that.
