Friday Bookish Meme

From BTT . . .

Do your reading habits change in the Spring? Do you read gardening books? Even if you don’t have a garden? More light fiction than during the Winter? Less? Travel books? Light paperbacks you can stick in a knapsack?

Or do you pretty much read the same kinds of things in the Spring as you do the rest of the year?

My reading definitely lightens up for Spring/Summer. Most of my chick-lit reading takes place in the summer. It's funny the question mentions gardening books because I was in the bookstore today itching to buy something and I considered buying a gardening book. I ultimately decided against it because I know I would browse through it once then never do any actual gardening.

My reading habits change a little in the Spring, when I get that surge of energy from the warming weather and sunlight. I tend to get more ambitious, and try to devise a plan whereby I can read more books. Like right now, I'm trying to read more so I can finish about a book a week. I also tend to get more self-help books in the spring. The last time I went to the library I got books on organizing your home, disciplining children, feeding children, gardening book, and even that book How to Win Friends and Influence People. I don't know if I will actually read any of these.

I do read gardening books more in the spring/summer. Also in the spring, I succumb to fantasy and fairy tales as a result of Carl's Once Upon a Time challenge.
